Even thought you tried your best to keep my face out of the tv, and took me to Helen's book store every day after school saying, "Twink, I don't care what you read, just READ!" and then let me pick out three books from any section (it was always the same section; Science Fiction/Horror), I want to thank you for letting me watch tv against your better judgement.
I wrote this song after the tragic death of a young, beautiful, kind and vibrant young woman, Brandi Meshad. I saw a picture of her with her arms open wide, standing in the bright doorway of her High School, Her happy silhouette looking as if she was crossing into another world. It moved me and I thought, when our loved ones cross over, we desperately want to know if they're alright, waiting for a sign, waiting by the phone, figuratively. So I wrote this song, dedicated to Brandi and her mother Lisa, and to all of our loved ones who are gone. My brother Tony, sand this with me at a Recovery concert and I"m so glad that Vicky Sullivan had a copy of it. I'm putting the lyrics here below, much love, Twinkle
Our community of musicians and music lovers came together to Feed Empty Little Tummies and here is the result. Great work everyone, and truly effective, when you realize that this program feeds a child for a year for a few hundred dollars, so many children have been effected in a positive way.
Well, folks, losing our dear friend and co-founder of Rock Soul Radio, Troy Parrish, was a HUGE blow to us. We love and miss him very much. Finding a replacement for him was going to be rough. Whoever we chose had big shoes to fill and we didn't want to rush it; we had to find THE perfect fit!
In the first two days after making the announcement that we were looking for a drummer we had more than 70 players send in audition materials! As Twinkle’s brother and de facto band manager I handled everything like I usually do, and by that I mean I handled everything with a great deal of panic and sleepless nights!
